Since 1990, I have worked in a variety of areas in editing and publishing. The majority of my experience has been in scientific, technical, and medical editing, but I also have several years of experience editing legal textbooks and a wide variety of nonfiction books. I am available to help with manuscripts at all stages of production: developmental editing, copy editing, fact checking, proofreading, spot translations, and composing supplemental content, including front and back matter, such as appendices, indexes, tables of contents, captions, key words, and resource lists.
Here are examples of the types of projects I have edited:
*Continuing medical education (CME) enduring materials (eg, monographs, Web-based slide decks, journal supplements, and monographs for health care provider meetings).
*Academic manuscripts, including PhD dissertations (in art history, sociology, and education) and as indexer for a book on Russian political science (Woodrow Wilson Press, 2010).
*Nonfiction trade books in subjects such as woodworking, gardening, home decorating, cooking, fitness, nutrition, children’s fiction, arts and crafts, juvenile science, games, puzzles, young adult (eg, CosmoGirl), photography, theatre, fashion, and humor.
*Bound course materials for neuroscience society members' annual conference. Peer-reviewed scientific research articles published in New York Academy of Sciences Annals on autoimmunity, endocrinology, and hematology; Clinical Infectious Diseases supplement manuscripts on HIV treatments.
*Legal textbooks and supplements on family, real estate, criminal, and civil law.
*Pharmaceutical and other industry consulting reports on oncology, pharmacoeconomics, and cardiology; life sciences, food, chemical, and process industries; telecommunications; and information technology.
My qualifications include an AB degree from Brown University in Modern Culture and Media, and graduate coursework in history from New Mexico State University, as well as numerous professional development courses and workshops.
