Personal and professional. Over a decade as a copyeditor and proofreader for scholars and publishers. Specializing in academic and trade nonfiction, humanities and hard science.

BOOK EDITOR
I have worked on at least 100 published books, serving in all capacities. I work with authors on initial developmental editing, line editing, and copy editing before submission to a publisher. On the production side, I copyedit and proofread both electronic and hard copy manuscripts before they go to press.

ACADEMIC EDITOR
I collaborate with individual scholars on a variety of academic projects, from dissertations and journal articles to full-length books. My personal interest is primarily in the humanities—anthropology, history, geography, philosophy, and so forth—but I am equally proficient in math and science editing.

I have a good reputation among my clients, which I believe indicates the quality and integrity I bring to my job. I work hard to ensure that a writer is treated with respect for his work and voice, that all questions are answered satisfactorily, and that she can be proud of having produced a clear, well-written piece of scholarship.

STYLE GUIDES
Most of my work follows the Chicago Manual of Style, APA, or the AP Stylebook. In a pinch, I can work with AMA or MLA style, as well.
