Grammatical and spelling mistakes almost literally "jump off the page" for me, and I am a quick study for style requirements.
My editing, proofreading, and indexing experience includes novels, Ph.D. theses, grad school applications, legal briefs, business plans, scholastic books, mathematics workbooks, advertising copy, and books on camping for Wilderness Press. I have worked for a web-based proofreading firm.
I offer a very quick turn-around time and I'm very good at clarifying less-than-clear passages. I am organized and give attention to detail. I don't miss deadlines. I can do a variety of projects at once. Weekend, evening, and rush projects are no problem.
I have authored three books, including "how-to" books and a cookbook, and many nonfiction articles and short stories. Whether writing original work or editing that of others’, I am quick, careful, and professional.
I quit practicing law 20 years ago to become a writer, editor, and artist. The lawyer's life is behind me, but the skills I acquired then serve me well in my current life. As a lawyer and a law student, a good portion of my time was spent writing, editing, and proofing briefs, law review articles, and reports.
