Efficient, detail-oriented editor and proofreader with more than 16 years of experience. Well versed in several style guides, including the Chicago Manual of Style, the Associated Press Stylebook, the American Psychological Association Publication Manual, and the Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications.

I was both a project manager and copy editor at Professional Publications (PPI), which publishes review manuals and test prep materials for engineers seeking certification.

At the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), I managed the book publishing program, resulting in the release of 30+ titles during my tenure. While at IABC, I also served as copy editor for the organization's award-winning magazine, CW, and the award-winning e-newsletter, CW Bulletin. My experience editing the winning work plans from IABC's Gold Quill Awards program has made me a skilled editor of writing by nonnative English speakers.

I have worked in the high-tech industry, as a staff editor and freelance editor for the design and strategy firm, Cooper. I have also worked for the former computer book publisher, Sybex (now an imprint of Wiley), and served as content developer and quality assurance analyst for a dotcom.

My facility with words stems from a long-time love of writing and my formal education, which includes a BA in English from Florida State University and an MFA in creative writing and literature from Emerson College. I have further developed my skills through numerous professional development activities, including the highly selective One Story workshop for writers and three writing workshops at the prestigious Squaw Valley Community of Writers.

I work with clients on a variety of projects--from business plans to novels to design specifications to marketing books.
